Story

Fuyuki was born to the Nagami family in Doma before the Garlean occupation. They were traditional Doman papermakers, and Fuyuki was well on his way to learning the craft and carrying on the business. His parents grew ill, and when he searched for medical solutions, he showed some aptitude for Geomancy. He took to studying it in earnest when the Doman paper trade began to decline. Supporting his family was his primary commitment. When the Garleans arrived, the Nagami family succumbed to a common tragedy. Fuyuki's mother was gone, leaving Fuyuki, his father, and his five-year-old sister, when the soldiers came to collect more conscripts. Fuyuki was the most eligible among them.He was not there to see his village slaughtered after the failed rebellion, mulberry fields burned. He would never see them again.

In the early days, Fuyuki was trained to use a magitek gun and given basic work to do, far from home. His superiors treated him as barely a person, putting him in treacherous positions and near-fatal danger. He had no idea how to be a soldier, but he learned quickly out of necessity. He'd thought that all he had to do was survive to be able to go home. He would spend years learning the full truth of his situation, living by the support of companions who would enter his life and leave it, with the seasons.

Once Fuyuki gained his footing as a soldier, his immense sense of justice and his utter lack of self-preservation created a dangerous cocktail in his mind. He became a violent rebel, constantly lashing out against his superiors and laughing off their treatment of him as a feral animal. He was determined to burn down the system, and that anarchistic streak would remain with him for the rest of his life. Typically, this led to him being put on a tighter leash and a smaller cage. After surviving the rest of his 20s as a vitriolic revolutionary, Fuyuki began to mellow out. Having suffered losses that he regretted bitterly, he gave himself a code name to sever ties with his past and carry out a new plan to escape. He called himself Ohashi, "great bridge," thinking on his dream to help carry others to freedom from imperialism. He made new friends, and the three of them managed to flee all the way to Eorzea thanks to their synergy as allies.more backstory u/c

The three deserters, Ohashi, Beef, and None, have taken up residence in an unassuming building in Ul'dah's Goblet under the guise of "business partners." They run the storefront during the day, and a shelter by night.

Relationships

Akisame Shindo
Ohashi has no idea that his younger sister is still alive, let alone where she is. She was practically a toddler when he was taken from their village, and her sweet and gentle temperament was burned away with the mulberry trees. It seems unlikely that they would even recognize each other, unless one were to look closely at their leaf-shaped scales or distinct magenta limbal rings.
Beef and None
Ohashi's loyal companions. Not their real names. Both have military and tactical skills. Ohashi complements with skills they lack. They helped each other escape Garlemald, and find a place to settle together in Eorzea.
Sirona and Wakahiru
Old friends from the early days of Ohashi's conscription. They were the last ones to know his real name. Each died fighting in the resistance. Sirona was a Highlander woman with a snappy personality, who taught him to make quick decisions. Wakahiru was a fellow Raen (yet the polar opposite of Fuyuki's sister) who taught him to make hope an unshakeable trait.

Lore
Ohashi is not a WoL nor affiliated with the Scions, though his ongoing story happens during the timeline of MSQ. I'm not too strict about lore, I'm happy with having semi-AUs or having our characters just cameo in each other's worlds.
Shipping
Ohashi holds onto his heart tightly.
That said, he is open to platonic and romantic relationships.
